TRJE 356: Rule Number Poop

Thine own self, words, 1796, clowns, impure thoughts, and more, on this weeks episode of The Regis Jack Experience. Picture Unrelated?

I would never "punch a baby bear in his shit" (from DJ Shadow's song "Nobody Speak"). Honestly, I don't understand what those words mean. Is he sticking his hand in the bears excrement? Is he dominating a weaker creature? Even though I don't understand their meaning, I believe those words are important to the writers of that song (Joshua Paul Davis / Jaime Meline / Michael Render, jsyk).

Words are also important to me. I use them to convey meaning, feelings, and beliefs. I use them with friends, family, coworkers, and sometimes the world — even though the world is not listening (nor does it care).

Words used in private express who people truly are, while words used in public express a facade. Actions may speak louder than words, but words incite actions. It is our actions and words together that reveal our true selves.

Words are important, but without understanding their meaning is lost. Without meaning, we are lost.
